Of course, increasing the supply will also push down wages in these fields, but the cost of entry will be lower, such that you might still come out ahead financially even with more competitors, especially if you get in early with little personal investment while wages are still high.
What we need is for this to happen more at the clerk type corporate paper-pusher positions where no particular skill or related experience is required at all for hiring, but they still want an expensive four-year degree in anything.
